Concept Research

What is it?

Concept research reinforces the early phases of a game’s design by identifying potential audiences that the game may appeal to, which helps user research and marketing to align the needs of the project with its players. By analysing the market for similar games, both for inspiration during the rest of development and commercial sales comparison for pitching and marketing. Concept research can also involve identifying and interviewing relevant experts who can lend their experiences to a project and help create a basis of reality for the game’s design.
